Riverboat Birding | Saturday, June 18 | 8 – 11 am (Participants in this morning cruise will board the Explorer at 7:30 am and set sail by 8:00 am) | One Allegheny Avenue | $50 Members; $55 non-Members
Join National Aviary Ornithologist Robert Mulvihill and the Rivers of Steel Explorer boat captain for a birding experience like no other! Bob will help you spot river birds, such as cormorants, eagles, herons, mergansers, and songbirds before returning to the dock at noon. You are welcome to bring your own brown bag lunch and non-alcoholic beverages.
This is a meet up-style program; participants travel independently to the locations. Participants will meet at Rivers of Steel Dock (1 Allegheny Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15212). Guests should bring their preferred binoculars, birding books, and any other equipment they would typically use for bird watching. Rivers of Steel will also provide binoculars to those who would like to use them.
River of Steel does not require facemasks for staff or guests, but guests are welcome to wear them if they would like. Guests will also be required to watch a safety video the morning of the program as they board the boat.
