World Oceans Day is dedicated to rallying the world to protect and restore our blue planet. Visit the National Aviary to celebrate our oceans and the birds that live there! Learn about how many bird species need healthy oceans to survive. Find out how we all can help protect our oceans for wildlife AND people.
Enjoy special activities between 10:30 am and 4:30 pm like:
A Sea Bird Activity – Learn about the different ways that seabirds find and catch food!
An Oceans Craft- Make a paper plate pelican!
Self-Guided Oceans Activities- Read ocean themed stories and learn about the oceans at your own pace.
At 11:30 and 1:30- learn about how oil spills and other pollution affects wildlife and people during an Oil Spill Activity Cart.
