Irish research with the Ulster Historical Foundation

Ulster Historical Foundation’s Executive Director Fintan Mullan and Research Officer Gillian Hunt will be presenting an Irish Genealogy Workshop featuring five pre-recorded one-hour lectures and two 30-minute live Question and Answer sessions. Benefiting beginners and seasoned genealogists alike, this in-depth virtual workshop will examine a multitude of historical records and electronic resources that will help to advance your Irish genealogy research.

Pre-recorded presentations include:

• Understanding Irish townlands: the importance of place, identity, and administrative divisions in Irish research

• Records Related to the Different Churches in Ireland

• Using land records: Griffith’s Valuation, Tithe and Estate records

• Emigration from the north of Ireland to North America – sources for researching emigrant ancestors

• The Great Famine in Ireland: Sources for records

Attendees will be able to access the lectures for 14 days after the presentation through the Ulster Historical Foundation’s platform. There will be door prizes available to attendees. The door prizes will be awarded through a random drawing. To be eligible for a door prize your registration must be completed by February 17th, two days prior to the event.

Registration fees are $35.00 for GSP Members and $40.00 for non-members.
