Virtual Event by City of Asylum @ Home

Celebrate the 2nd annual Sabira Cole Film Festival with online screenings that deliver a curated collection of independent cinema from or about the African Diaspora.

The Sabira Cole Film Festival (SCFF) centralizes storytelling traditions of the Diaspora and global communities of color to control our image and narrative. We support and magnify the voices of tomorrow. SCFF was inspired by the decade long Sembéne Film Festival and was created to honor the legacy and memory of its leader Sabira Cole.” – Ogechi Chieke, Executive Director SCFF

This year’s festival features screenings of the 2021 first prize winners in every category + a dynamic live panel of experts.

  • Tenor – First Prize Children’s Film  (13 minute run time)
  • Remember Their Roots — Hometown Hero Prize (9 minute run time)
