Come explore our amazing Camera Obscura with Asaf Elkalai. Latin for “dark room” this device has been used for thousands of years, and led to the development of the modern cameras we use today. Learn about how this amazing machine works, its history, and how it can teach us more about optics and photography.

Asaf Elkalai was born in Kerem Ben Zimra, and currently based in Tel Aviv, Israel. Graduated with honors MFA from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, BA with honors in Photography from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design Jerusalem, and Art Education Diploma from The Hebrew University.
Today he teaches at Ashdod museum and works as a Social Projects Coordinator and Educational Studies Coordinator at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. His works range from photography to sculpture to installations has been widely exhibited internationally.
