Co-presented by 1Hood Media and Artist Image Resource (AIR)
The Warhol welcomes Pittsburgh-based author, artist, producer, and activist Claude “Paradise” Gray for a reading and Q&A, directly followed by a book signing. The event celebrates his new book No Half Steppin’ — An Oral and Pictorial History of New York City Club the Latin Quarter and the Birth of Hip-Hop’s Golden Era, co-authored by Giuseppe “u.net” Pipitone. Gray is one of the artists included in the museum’s Activist Print project. Activist Print is a collaboration between The Warhol, BOOM Concepts (a creative hub for artists to incubate ideas), and the North Side printmaking studio Artists Image Resource (AIR). The evening also features a special guest DJ spinning classic hits from Hip Hop’s Golden Era.
