Mar 24, 2019 - Mar 24, 2019 | 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Children's Museum Pittsburgh
10 Children's Way
Allegheny Square
Pittsburgh, PA 15222

In this workshop, students will explore pyrography, the art of burning wood to create pictures and designs. A small group of students will be introduced to wood burning tools in a safe environment where they will have a lot of individual help and attention from the instructor. During the course of the workshop, students will learn basic mark-making techniques, strategies to transfer designs onto wood, and how to add color to their designs. Students will have the opportunity to create an original design to burn as a take-home project!

Workshops are $5 per participant and advanced registration is required. Click here to register.

Museum admission is NOT required to attend the workshop.  Participants may be dropped off by a parent or guardian in the Museum lobby and will be escorted to the workshop by a Museum staff member after their registration has been verified.  After the workshop is over, participants can be picked up in the Museum lobby. Museum admission must be purchased if participant plans to visit the Museum before or after the duration of the workshop.
