Badge Day Workshop: Boy Scouts Genealogy

In newly designed Badge Day Workshops, scouts will complete requirements that help earn a badge from either the Boy Scouts of America or Girl Scouts of America.

In the Genealogy Badge Day Workshop, Boy Scouts will explore and unearth pieces of their family’s history. Hands-on activities in the History Center’s Library & Archives will foster discovery by using original and online sources to track down ancestors.

Please note that Requirement 3 (interviewing a relative or family acquaintance) must be completed before the Badge Day Workshop. Scouts are encouraged to complete Requirement 4b (obtain a genealogical document that supports their family history) as a prerequisite but if they cannot find a source, we will help them locate one during the workshop.
