Building a Self-Driving Robot on Google Cloud

Jul 16, 2018 - Jul 16, 2018 | 5:00 pm - 8:00 am
Alloy 26
100 South Commons Suite 102
Pittsburgh, PA 15212

In this talk, you will hear about the journey to build a self-driving robot and the technical challenges engineers faced. You will see a live demonstration of two robots playing a game of ball against each other.

Engineers set out to build a robot that could participate in a local robot derby contest and were inspired by the self-driving work happening in Pittsburgh. They leveraged a lot of technology along the way, both open source and from Google Cloud, including things like TensorFlow, Node.js, Google IoT Core, PubSub, App Engine, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, etc.
