Playwriting Workshop

Join playwright, Caleen Sinnette Jennings, for an interactive communal workshop for aspiring and professional writers, playwrights, journalists, and literary artists. The workshop will explore how, like Lorraine Hansberry, playwright Caleen Sinnette Jennings mined personal diaries, photo albums, interviews and research to pen her theatrical memoirs. Caleen will ground the workshop in techniques to help participants overcome writer's block, boost confidence and celebrate the outcome.

Workshop participants are encouraged to bring one or two photos of people who have been meaningful in their lives. Writing exercises will lead to monologues which will be shared with other participants.
