Melvin B. Tolson is a professor at Wiley College, a small African-American school in Texas. In 1935, he inspired students to form the college's first debate team. Tolson turns a group of underdogs into an elite debate team which goes on to challenge Harvard in the national championship. Inspired by a true story. Starring Denzel Washington and Nate Parker.
