The past is filled with key points at which different decisions might have changed the course of history. Using the format of a deliberative forum and thinking from the perspective of a citizen in post-World War II Pittsburgh, students will discuss three options for how the modern city should be shaped. A hands-on exploration of primary archival sources from the Allegheny Conference on Community Development will set the scene, followed by an hour-long forum moderated by History Center education staff.

Homeschooled students in grades 8-11 are invited to this program, offered free of charge through the generosity of the Kettering Foundation. Parents and siblings are welcome to visit the museum while the forum is taking place by paying admission at our discounted group rates.
