Learn light hammer forming over soldered lap-joints to make your own customized beer mug while simultaneously learning how to brew your own beer! Raising, sinking, snarling, chasing and anticlastic forming methods will be explored. Stainless mug inserts will be provided to make your mug food safe. All-grain and extract brewing will be demonstrated as well as bottling and basic sanitation. Sean Macmillan is the Metalsmithing Professor at Slippery Rock University. His major technical expertise in Metalsmithing is hammer-forming and fabrication. He has been a home-brewer for over 10 years and is the Creator/Researcher/Brewer for Slippery Rock’s “Historic Home Brew” public lecture series at the Center for Public Humanities.
