Beginner River Paddle

Have you attended one of our Beginner Paddles at North Park or already spent a lot of time paddling around the lake? Ready to test out kayaking on the river? Launching from our Downtown launch, we’ll take in the sights and sounds of the Allegheny as we head down the river and back. We’ll cover the basics of kayaking while also explaining how to safely navigate rivers while in a kayak.

Trip Leaders: Our trained Kayak Pittsburgh Excursionists will introduce kayak gear and discuss how to safely navigate the rivers.

Activity Level: Beginner - no experience required. However, if you would like to learn kayaking on a body of water without motorized watercraft or a current, check out our Beginner Paddles at our North Park Location!

Age Requirements: Since this is a class using solo kayaks, all participants must be at least 13 years of age.
