The art of voguing is a queer art form that began in the New York City ballrooms in the 1980’s and continues today. The vogue scene includes performers from diverse backgrounds; however, it is found predominantly in Black and Brown communities where queer individuals have freedom of self-expression and identity, a safe space. Voguing is history, it is a movement, and we are excited to provide a Vogue Workshop that will be 90 minutes long at the AWAACC. Learn how to Catwalk, high kick, drop and pose, and more about this powerful dance style.
For attendees ofthe workshop, your ticket will include the dance party that begins at 9pm. If you can’t attend the workshop and still want to party with us, the dance party is free and will begin at 9pm. There will be a DJ, live performance, vogue dance battle, cash bar, and food vendor. Come and party with the AWAACC as we celebrate PRIDE month, Happy PRIDE!
