On the day after Thanksgiving, thousands are expected at David L. Lawrence Convention Center to sing, pray, celebrate and pack over one million meals for the hungry. This is the second annual “Amen to Action” event which inspired over 3,000 volunteers in November 2017 to pack 1,014,366 meals for their Pittsburgh community. Meals were packed using a system developed by the Meals of Hope organization then delivered to those in need through the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. The event sold out and broke records for packing the most meals in one day in a single location.
“Amen to Action” was founded by a group of Pittsburgh clergy and lay leaders with the shared vision: “to connect people of all faiths, creating a platform of harmony and amassing spiritual capital more potent than all the coal in the hills and steel in the mills—and in so doing, lead Pittsburgh to become a spiritual power plant for the rest of the world.”
The Amen to Action team invites the community of Pittsburgh to register and/or donate to the 2nd annual “Amen to Action” event taking place on Friday, November 23rd at David L. Lawrence Convention Center. For more details on visit https://www.amentoaction.org
