2021 Restaurant Recovery Grant Program

Grant size: $3,000 – $15,000

Number of grants anticipated: 20 – 40

Eligibility:

• Restaurant must be located in Downtown Pittsburgh’s Golden Triangle. (If business operates more than one location in Downtown Pittsburgh, that business may apply for a grant on behalf of each Downtown location).
• Restaurant must be open for business currently.
• Business operates fewer than ten locations outside of Downtown Pittsburgh.

Grant size factors:

• Number of applications received
• Planned use of funding
• Pre-pandemic revenue
• Decline in sales during April 2020 – March 2021 compared to April 2019 – March 2020
• Current revenue (if restaurant has been established less than 18 months)

Key Dates:

• May 5: Application period begins
• May 17: Application period ends
• May 28: Notification period begins
• June 7 – 14: Grant dollars disbursed, upon receipt of all required applicant information

Application process:

Applications will open on May 5, 2021 and will be available online. Business will need to supply the following documents:

• PA Sales Tax Forms OR a Point-of-Sale Sales Report for April 2019 – March 2020
• PA Sales Tax Forms OR a Point-of-Sale Sales Report for April 2020 – March 2021
• PA Sales Tax Forms OR a Point-of-Sale Sales Report for Business Operating Months (if restaurant has been established less than 18 months)
