Youth Summer Writing Camp

Are you a middle schooler that loves to write and wants to learn more? Whether you’re obsessed with poetry, plays, short stories, songwriting, or all of the above, The August Wilson Cultural Centers Second Annual Summer Youth Writers Camp wants you! August Wilson believed that our own voices and communities were essential to our art. Together we will look at some of Wilsons influences as well as our own as we explore our unique writing voice. Each day will be filled with exciting theater games and thought-provoking writing exercises to sharpen your pen. You’ll have several opportunities to meet new friends, share your work, and engage in constructive feedback. Come and join a strong, supportive community of young writers who are going to change the world!

All participants must be current middle school students.
