Love whiskey? Walking? Pittsburgh? This sounds like the tour for you! From the mill to the still, whiskey has been a cornerstone in Pittsburgh's history. Come downtown for our whiskey history tour,
where you will discover how whiskey has fueled political, labor and social movements throughout the region. We start the tour with a sample of the oldest and longest continuously produced whiskey in America (or a hot toddy for the colder days) and end the tour at our partner Wigle Whiskey’s tasting room in the beautiful Omni William Penn Hotel. As we walk the streets of Downtown, you'll learn about the violent Whiskey Rebellion in Pittsburgh, hidden former (as well as existing!) speakeasies around the city, how Prohibition affected the region, the revival of craft spirits, and Wigle’s own history as local and family-owned business. As our tour guest, you will get 3 additional samples of whiskey from Wigle as well as their discounted cocktail prices ($5). Cheers!
Please note: Due to the current closure of the William Penn Hotel, neither the speakeasy nor the Wigle Whiskey Tasting Room can be visited. The final whiskey tasting will take place in our shop (the starting point of the tour), with a variety of different Wigle Whiskeys.
