FPO Speaker Series

Crystal Manich, who is directing our production of Handel’s Ariodante, and Haley Stamats, her assistant director and a first-year Resident Artist, will have a dialogue about the many aspects of their world.

Crystal Manich has directed numerous productions for Pittsburgh Opera. She has directed works for stage and screen across the United States, Argentina and Australia. In 2023 Crystal will direct several new productions including a world premiere opera, Anne Frank. Her credits are impressive and numerous.

Haley Stamats comes to Pittsburgh Opera with experience directing and being an assistant director in companies in the United States and England.  She has worked with Crystal Manich on several operas and considers her a mentor and role model.
