This workshop will focus on learning traditional music, culture, and history of the Malian Empire of West Africa through drumming, song, storytelling, and visual arts activities. Participants will also be introduced to folktales from the African diaspora and will have a chance to compare their adapted versions to their origins in West Africa. All ages and levels of experience are welcome as we come together in a joyful exploration of West African culture!
