Sound Series: Lyra Pramuk

Apr 28, 2022 - Apr 28, 2022 | 8:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The Andy Warhol Museum
117 Sandusky Street
Pittsburgh, PA 15212

Pramuk, who grew up singing in choirs in a rural central Pennsylvania town, went on to study at Eastman School of Music, and is currently based in Berlin. Her interests lie primarily at the intersection of electronic pop music and opera, counting Björk, Laurie Anderson, Meredith Monk, M.I.A, and Missy Elliot as inspirations. Composed and arranged entirely from the sound of her own voice, Fountain, has been described as integrating the intimacies of the club and the emotional multitude of trans experiences into “an excavation of her own body’s resonant possibilities” (Pitchfork), envisioning a post-human queer futurity.
