The annual August Wilson Birthday Celebration Block Party presented by Dollar Bank will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 30, in Pittsburgh's historic Hill District near Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright August Wilson's childhood home at 1727 Bedford Ave.

The free, family-friendly party will feature more than 125 vendors, performances, a lip sync battle, dance, foam party and more surprises. Come early, and stay late!

This year's block party is extra special because it will kick off a year of festivities to celebrate the restoration and public unveiling of Wilson's childhood home, which is slated for summer 2022.
