Basket weaving is a craft that has been around for thousands of years. In this workshop enjoy learning about the history and different kinds of basketry, as you work to create your own basket using a natural material called reed. Learn about each step from start to finish; when you leave the workshop you’ll have your very own basket as well as the knowledge to make more at home.

Workshops are $5 per participant and advanced registration is required. Click here to register.

Museum admission is NOT required to attend the workshop.  Participants may be dropped off by a parent or guardian in the Museum lobby and will be escorted to the workshop by a Museum staff member after their registration has been verified.  After the workshop is over, participants can be picked up in the Museum lobby. Museum admission must be purchased if participant plans to visit the Museum before or after the duration of the workshop.
