At age 14, Jevon made the decision to cultivate his playing by studying at the Pittsburgh High School for the Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) under the tutelage of jazz legend, Roger Humphries. He is a graduate of Westinghouse High School.
Along with explosive power, blinding speed, complex rhythms and time signatures, Jevon brings a rare and unique sense of elegance, chilled composure, and gritty groove to his music. His artistic ingenuity expresses itself in his incomparable technique, sweltering sense of swing, and an extraordinary ability to imbue his music with poise and grace. Jevon can be heard playing on a plethora of recordings by local and international artists.
Jevon has a strong dedication to community and education. Westinghouse High School inducted him into the Hall of Fame in 2008. He’s been awarded the AUBA Community Dedication Award and has received The Judah Project distinction for Excellence in Leadership. In 2009, he ventured into Broadway and went on his first tour as the drummer for Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit musical, CATS. Since then he’s toured with other Broadway shows, such as Sister Act and School of Rock! He has had the pleasure of performing with artists such as Kirk Franklin, Sean Jones, Travis Malloy, Tom Browne, Fred Wesley, and many more.
