On July 4, 2026, our nation will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. To commemorate this historic milestone, the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership is joining the City of Pittsburgh, America 250, and a host of civic partners to offer a week of community programming and live entertainment in the heart of the city and beyond.

Free Concerts in Market Square

City of Pittsburgh Celebrates America250

Leading up to the City of Pittsburgh’s award-winning Independence Day Celebration, residents and visitors can experience a weeklong series of patriotic ceremonies, concerts, family activities, public art, and community events throughout the city! 

Independence Day Celebration

The City’s Independence Day Celebration returns to Point State Park, Liberty Avenue, North Shore Great Lawn, and the Grandview Park Bandstand for the grandest fireworks spectacle the city has seen in decades!

Ferris Wheel

July 1-5, 2026

This 90 foot wheel offers breathtaking views of the Pittsburgh skyline, the Three Rivers, and the City’s award-winning Independence Day Celebration.

Market Square 

The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership will celebrate in the newly modernized Market Square with special programming running from June 27 through July 5. Join us for family-fun events, trivia, concerts and more!
