Rain or shine, join us on Thursday, March 21 for a special Spring Market!
As spring brings some warmer weather days, the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership is taking advantage by offering a new Spring Market for the community to enjoy Downtown, next Thursday, March 21. The new spring market comes ahead of the traditional Farmers Market, which will kick off May 16.
Market Square markets represent a beloved tradition for the Downtown community, and the rain-or-shine Spring Market is a fresh addition to the PDP line-up that offers shoppers an early opportunity to mark the change of season with an eclectic mix of packaged goods, artisan products, and small-batch foods from a variety of vendors.
This first market aligns closely with the official start of Spring (March 19th). A second Spring Market is also planned for April 18th.
Admission to the market is free, with discounted parking available at the 350 Oliver Avenue parking garage Downtown, offering a $5 Daytime Parking rate (for up to two hours) on weekdays. The Golden Triangle Ambassadors, who have been out and about Downtown since the hospitality program launched in March of 2023, will be on hand to welcome people to the new market on opening day.
“Our Farmers Markets have typically marked the start of our season of programming in the Golden Triangle, but we have so many exciting things planned for this season, we decided to start things early,” said Jeremy Waldrup, President, and CEO of the PDP. “It will soon ‘officially’ be Spring, so this new market is timely, and coincides well with our goal of creating fresh experiences and opportunities to engage workers, residents, and visitors Downtown. It’s also great to enjoy the dining and shopping provided by these small businesses that are such an important part of our community.”
The Spring Market will feature a mix of favorite vendors from our Farmers Market and Night Market series, like The Brinery @Two Acre Farm and Little Athens.
Yoga in Square will return to Downtown for free, bi-weekly classes starting in May, joined by a new Workout Wednesdays series, featuring free, outdoor fitness classes in Market Square starting in June. Live music will once again be front-and-center for the summer, with a wide array of Lunchtime Concerts. Plus, more weekend shopping opportunities and live entertainment can be expected in late June when PDP’s Night Market returns. A wide array of other new and unique events are also planned for the season.
