Downtown Pittsburgh becomes PROSTBURGH as Oktoberfest returns with big brews, big views, and bountiful Bavarian fun!
“PROST” BURGH (Aug. 28, 2026) – Presented by the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership (PDP), and Flyspace Productions, Oktoberfest Pittsburgh “polka’s” to Downtown for its third year (Oct. 1-11) with new and returning attractions, including the Ferris Wheel on the Clemente Bridge and Stein Holding Competitions, Wiener Dog Races, Kinderplay activities, and more in the recently modernized Market Square!
The 11-day German-inspired celebration filled with beer, food, music, and entertainment will transform Pittsburgh into PROSTBURGH — the ultimate destination for non-stop Bavarian fun.

“In simple terms, the word Prost translates to “may it be beneficial” in English, and nothing is truly more beneficial than connection,” says Shannon Baker, PDP Board Chair and President of the Gatesman Agency. “As our team worked on this new concept for Oktoberfest Pittsburgh alongside the PDP, we wanted to find a way to capture that feeling, and therefore PROSTBURGH was born!”
“Oktoberfest Pittsburgh has quickly become one of the city’s favorite fall traditions,” says Sara Innamorato, Allegheny County Executive. “This festival supports our city through all cylinders, bringing people Downtown to enjoy music, food, family-friendly activities, local businesses, and of course a little Bavarian cheer. But this year we are making the event even more Pittsburgh with the official proclamation of PROSTBURGH!”
“PROSTBURGH” brings back fan favorites from the past two years, including the iconic Ferris wheel on the 6th Street (Roberto Clemente) Bridge. The 60-ft wheel offers sweeping skyline views for a 10-minute ride at just $7 per ticket. While on the bridge, festivalgoers can also enjoy Karneval-style games, family-friendly activities, and unique merchandise to commemorate the event. Ferris Wheel tickets can be reserved in advance

Head to Market Square for even more activities, including Axe Throwing, the Devil’s Wheel amusement park-style ride, and endless games for young “kinder” in the
Kinderplay area. Get ready to dance the days away while enjoying performances from an array of traditional polka and contemporary bands at the main stage!
Prost to good times with a draft selection of authentic German brews and satisfy those Deutsch cravings by enjoying bratwurst and knockwurst sandwiches, crispy potato pancakes, warm pretzels, sweet treats, and more. Also returning this year: Stein Holding and Dachshund Races! Held on Saturdays and Sundays in Market Square during the festivities, both competitions will be hosted by John and Rachael of the YaJagoff podcast. Contestants can test their strength and skills while holding a five-pound Stein full of golden brew or sign up their furry friend for a one-of-a-kind Dachshund race!
