The Heritage Gospel Chorale of Pittsburgh is joined by other areas choirs and emcee Lynne Hayes-Freeland of KDKA-TV News. Featured dance troupe is Reed II Dance. Celebrating the life and works of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through choral selections and oratory with the goal of blurring the geographic, demographic, and economic lines separating urban and suburban Pittsburgh. The concerts benefits the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. Let Freedom Sing! brings together black communities and white communities, city neighborhoods and suburbs, and young and old participants and audience members in the spirit of Dr. King's vision of brotherhood. Be inspired by the importance of becoming actively involved in community affairs, working toward a common goal, and how local action can make a contribution for the common good.
