Hop into History: Pittsburgh’s Space Stories

May 11, 2022 - May 11, 2022 | 10:30 am - 11:30 am
Heinz History Center
1212 Smallman St
Pittsburgh, PA 15222

Kids ages 2–5 and their caretakers can explore the people, places, and stories that make Pittsburgh unique at the History Center’s fun and engaging Hop into History program series.

Pittsburgh has long been involved in space exploration! On May 11, investigate the early work of the Allegheny Observatory by drawing sunspots and making our own version of a telescope lens. Then jump ahead to the 1960s and see Pittsburgh’s contributions to the Apollo 11 Moon Landing! Create a rubber band rocket, grab “moon rocks,” and get ready to land!

This in-person program at the History Center is designed for early learners ages 2-5 and their adult caretakers. Upon arrival, please check in at the History Center Admissions Desk.
