Rivers Agile and Steptoe & Johnson PLLC present a Data Security Panel Discussion on the rooftop of Left Field Meeting Space on the North Shore. Our panel will explore data security risks, prevention, and best practices, along with some use case stories. Join our panelists for an in-depth panel discussion on data security and biggest industry challenges from the perspective of an AWS practitioner, a lawyer, and a cyber security professional. Plus, enjoy an evening of networking with business owners, practitioners, and other industry colleagues. Limited tickets are available.

PANELISTS

Our expert panel will include:

David Kane, CEO, Ethical Intruder: David Kane is the CEO of Ethical Intruder, a Pittsburgh Pennsylvania based Cyber Security firm. Mr. Kane has over 20 years in the field of technology, consistently focused on roles that bridge business and technology understanding. The last eight years have had a specific focus on Cyber Security related to software products. Ethical Intruder was formed with personnel that had vast experience not only in security, but also software engineering and product design. Ethical Intruder does not sell or promote any technology or vendor products, instead they work as a trusted advisor to guide organizations in becoming as secure as possible with their existing products and technologies. Ethical Intruder is a leader in the Medical IT, HealthCare IT and Life Sciences space which enables them to have a very strong perspective on obligations in the Medical Device industry. Ethical Intruder provides evaluations to assess the maturity of cyber security programs and helps organizations to build Cyber Security roadmaps aligned with their business or compliance requirements.

Edward G. Rice, Member, Steptoe & Johnson: A Member at Steptoe & Johnson PLLC’s Pittsburgh office, Mr. Rice understands that the ultimate purpose of all legal work is to meet client business objectives. His practice is a unique blend of representing clients in areas of privacy and data security, technology, and financial services. Ed helps his clients to develop comprehensive data security programs and provides guidance in the event of a data breach. He also has counseled clients on the latest privacy laws and has represented technology companies on tech provider agreements and software licensing agreements and has a deep understanding of technology solutions involving cloud computing, SaaS, AI, and other emerging technologies. Ed also has in-depth experience in e-commerce, federal and multi-state regulatory compliance, retail and consumer banking, and consumer-facing FinTech.

Jimi Tallon, Lead Software Engineer, Rivers Agile: A 2008 Carnegie Mellon University Masters of Information Technology graduate, Mr. Tallon has more than two decades of information technology and information security experience. Jimi is accomplished in a wide variety of programming languages, well versed in network protocols and standards, and boasts a strong cyber security portfolio including SSA (Survivable Systems Analysis) and has been involved with several security audits over the years. A self proclaimed “hardware geek”, Mr. Tallon experiments with Raspberry Pi and Arduino, but also loves the opportunity to reverse engineer and stress test the latest technologies.
