Inspired by the original German Christkindlmarkts, the 4th Annual Peoples Gas Holiday Market will bring a cherished European tradition to Downtown Pittsburgh that mixes international flair with local charm. Visitors experience a one-of-a-kind holiday shopping village as they stroll through an illuminated Market Square, weaving through Alpine-style wooden chalets, brimming with high quality gifts.

The Peoples Gas Holiday Market in Market Square will showcase our diverse cultural heritage with daily live performances and be sure to visit Santa in his Downtown Pittsburgh home right in the heart of the Peoples Gas Holiday Market. In return for a donation to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, receive a complimentary photo with Santa!

When visiting the Peoples Gas Holiday Market, be sure to visit the BNY Mellon Season of Lights which illuminates the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh, Market Square, with more than 150,000 lights and a 30’ high electronic sphere tree! Every half hour after dark, Market Square will twinkle and dance with a dazzling light show, choreographed to a high energy medley of holiday tunes!

KidsPlay offered free activities for children of all ages! Located in the Cultural District on the 800 block of Liberty Avenue, KidsPlay, was a new holiday tradition for 2014 presented by Highmark!

Improv Workshop: Improv instructors taught families silly warm-ups and easy games to play.

Harris Theater - 809 Liberty Avenue

Trust Arts Education Center - 805 Liberty Avenue
Arts & Crafts: Kids created one-of-a-kind holiday items designed by Macaroni Kids.
Story Area: Pittsburgh International Children's Theater hosted a reading area featuring books for kids and parents to enjoy together.

U.S. Steel Plaza Crèche

The larger-than-life Pittsburgh Crèche is the only authorized replica of the Crèche in St. Peter's Square in Rome. The Crèche will be on display through January 7, 2015 and is a stop on the Holly Trolley.
