Arcade Comedy Theater provides an interactive platform for players of all levels, both onstage and off, to experience various forms of theatrical comedy, from proven standards to offbeat styles. Hours: Our normal box office hours are Fridays & Saturdays 7:30-11:30 p.m., and Sundays from 6:30-9:30 p.m. For special events, the box office opens 30 minutes before show time.

For 86 years, our Arthur Murray Dance Studios have been providing the gift of dance to the Greater Pittsburgh area. Thousands of customers have passed through our doors and entered the wonderful world of dance. Arthur Murray Pittsburgh offers flexible instruction and schedules. There is one on one instruction with a professional instructor. These lessons are set up by appointment at your convenience. We also offer group classes that are available daily, and are unlimited to currently enrolled students. Just stop by one of our convenient locations. And, for some real fun, we have supervised dance sessions where you can practice your steps and work on favorite dances. These sessions provide you a chance to get together with partners and friends to enjoy your dancing — all in a relaxed atmosphere with a seasoned dance professional.  

A Center for Dynamic Art, History & Culture

One of only two major arts institutions in the world named for Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning playwright and Pittsburgh native August Wilson, the August Wilson Center engages regional and national audiences in its mission of preserving, presenting, interpreting, celebrating and shaping the art, culture and history of African Americans utilizing the rich history, legacy and culture of African Americans from Western Pennsylvania as a foundation. From its new home in a vibrant Cultural District, the sleekly modern August Wilson Center offers multiple exhibition galleries, a 486-seat theater for performances in all genres, an education center for classes, lectures and hands-on learning, and dazzling spaces for community programs and events. The Center is a place like no other for experiencing theater, dance, music, history, film, literature, visual art, interactive education and spectacular entertainment, all under one roof.

The Benedum Center for the Performing Arts, a Pittsburgh Cultural Trust theater, is a focal point of Pittsburgh's Cultural District. The 2,800-seat theater is home to Pittsburgh Cultural Trust presentations including PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh, Cohen & Grigsby Trust Presents, and First Night Pittsburgh. The Trust also provides priority programming dates on the Benedum stage to Cultural District resident companies including Pittsburgh CLO, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and the Pittsburgh Opera. Originally built in 1903 as the Gayety Theater, The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust purchased this 1300-seat venue, then called the Fulton Theater, in 1988. The Trust renovated and reopened the Fulton Theater in 1991. The theater was renamed the Byham Theater in 1995, in recognition of a gift from William C. and Carolyn M. Byham. Today, the Byham Theater is home to a wide variety of performing arts, including dance, music, theater, film, and family-friendly events held throughout the year. From animals to people and buildings, Sam is an artist who can create any request handed to him. Visitors traveling to Station Square can bring in their own photographs, Sam is able to take the images and draw a near life-like portrait.

Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh is a place that delights and inspires children, where they can take off on fantastic flights of imagination daily, and return to earth to splash in a river, hammer a nail and ink a silkscreen. Named one of the nation’s top 15 children’s museums by Parents magazine in 2015, the Museum welcomes over 306,000 visitors annually and provides tons of fun and loads of “real stuff” experiences for play and learning.  Hands-on, interactive exhibit areas and experiences that inspire joy, creativity and curiosity include The Studio, MAKESHOP, Waterplay, Nursery, Theater and Backyard. The Museum’s award-winning, three-story building connects two historic buildings, Allegheny Post Office Building & the Buhl Building.  Its center building is screened by a shimmering wind sculpture created by environmental artist Ned Kahn (Articulated Cloud).  In 2006 the Museum became a certified green building (Silver LEED) and was honored by the American Institute for Architects and the National Historic Preservation Trust. City of Asylum creates a thriving community for writers, readers, and neighbors. They provide sanctuary to endangered literary writers, so that they can continue to write and their voices are not silenced. They offer a broad range of literary programs in a variety of community settings to encourage cross-cultural exchange. They anchor neighborhood economic development by transforming blighted properties into homes for these programs and energizing public spaces through public art with text-based components.

Home to fantastic musical productions, late-night entertainment, live music, and outstanding food, the Greer Cabaret Theater in the heart of the Cultural District provides unique live music and theatrical performances year-round. The 260-seat venue features the adjacent Backstage Bar, which offers an outstanding list of premium wines, spirits, specialty drinks and beers to complement a casual food menu. Theater Square is located at 655 Penn Avenue, between the O’Reilly Theater and Katz Plaza. You can also conveniently park in the Theater Square Garage to make your visit a breeze. The garage entrance is on Seventh Street, between Ft. Duquesne Boulevard and Penn Avenue. From the garage lobby you can either turn right to enter through the main doors on Penn Avenue or, if you turn left, simply walk along the driveway at Katz Plaza and enter through the Backstage Bar doors. Formerly known as the Art Cinema, the Harris Theater represents a milestone in the redevelopment of Liberty Avenue. The Art Cinema was the first moving picture house in Pittsburgh to commercially show art movies until competition from other city theaters led to its conversion to an adult, pornographic movie house in the 1960s. As part of its mission to transform the Cultural District, The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust purchased and restored the facility leading to further conversions of run-down properties along the Liberty Avenue corridor. With194 seats for movies and 178 seats for live performances, the Harris Theater officially opened to the public on November 9, 1995. The Harris was named through a gift from the Buhl Foundation after John P. Harris, co-founder of the Nickelodeon—the first theater solely dedicated to the showing of motion pictures—and a Pennsylvania State Senator. The Harris Theater features contemporary, foreign and classic films.

Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts is owned and operated by Pittsburgh Symphony, Inc., a non-profit organization, and is the year-round home of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.  Heinz Hall is also the cornerstone of the Cultural District of Pittsburgh and hosts many events—such as those shown below—that do not feature its world-renowned Orchestra.  If you wish to see the full calendar of events, including those that feature the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, click here. Liberty Magic is a space dedicated to elevating the art of magic. Located at 811 Liberty, on the same block where Harry Houdini mesmerized Pittsburgh crowds in 1916, Liberty Magic is an intimate, speakeasy performance space dedicated to the art of sleight of hand and prestidigitation. Sitting on the former site of the Lyceum Theater, one of the city's many vaudeville houses demolished after the 1936 St. Patrick's Day flood, the O'Reilly is the fourth theater project completed by The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. The O'Reilly was created with two purposes: to create a downtown home for Public Theater and to create additional venues for theater, music and other performances. Designed by world-renowned architect Michael Graves, the O'Reilly Theater is also the only downtown performance venue that features a thrust stage, surrounded by the audience on three sides. The theater features 650 seats and state-of-the-art theater technology. The O'Reilly Theater was built at a cost of $25 million. Major gifts to the O'Reilly Theater include a naming gift in honor of Dr. Anthony J. O'Reilly from Mrs. Chryss O'Reilly and current and past senior executives of the H.J. Heinz Company, and the Helen Wayne Rauh Rehearsal Hall, named in memory of the Pittsburgh actress by her son, Richard E. Rauh. Pittsburgh Public Theater produces about 235 performances a year, making the O’Reilly Theater one of the city’s most utilized venues.

In the Cultural District of Pittsburgh, amidst the Symphony, Opera and Ballet, a world-class violin shop has been established by master violinmaker, Phillip Injeian. Servicing the local community, students and musicians across the United States and internationally, Phillip's name has become synonymous with instruments of the highest quality. Known for his experience in violinmaking and sound-adjustments and setups, Phillip is a master restorer and his shop carries out repairs for students and professionals. In short, his shop provides a full range of service to visitors at his newest location. Phillip's shop is open to the public, and is frequently visited by students and professional musicians. The shop includes an intimate concert hall containing a 1917 Steinway "M" used for in-house recitals.

Pittsburgh CLO provides year-round entertainment at the CLO Cabaret, unparalleled performing arts training at the Pittsburgh CLO Academy, valuable educational opportunities in the community, recognition for young performers at the Gene Kelly Awards, and opportunities for local artists on our stages and work for talented craftsman at the CLO Construction Center for the Arts.

Presenting contemporary art in craft media by international, national and regional artists since 1971, the Society for Contemporary Craft offers cutting edge exhibitions focused on multicultural diversity and non-mainstream art, as well as a range of classes, community outreach programs and a fantastic retail store.

The Society for Contemporary Craft (SCC) remains one of the nation’s only non-profit institutions focused on contemporary craft. Since. SCC has organized more than 140 thematic exhibitions featuring work by more than 1400 nationally and internationally renowned artists. Additionally, SCC’s support of culturally diverse and underrepresented groups has resulted in many exhibitions by self-taught, Native American, Korean, and African- American artists.

The mission of SPACE is to realize a working example of an integrated and open art ecosystem in Pittsburgh. SPACE values the creation of new works in multi-disciplines, presentation of artwork to the broadest possible audience, inclusion of established and contemporary technologies and the promotion of local artists outside of the region. A vital component of The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s Visual Arts programming, SPACE presents five to six exhibitions annually, offering emerging artists an opportunity to advance projects in a supportive setting.

Located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the place of Andy Warhol’s birth, The Andy Warhol Museum holds the largest collection of Warhol’s artworks and archival materials. We are one of the most comprehensive single-artist museums in the world and the largest in North America. The Warhol holds the largest collection of Warhol’s artworks and archival materials. Paintings, drawings, commercial illustrations, sculptures, prints, photographs, wallpapers, sketchbooks, and books cover the entire range of Warhol’s career, from his early student work to pop art paintings and collaborations. The Warhol’s film and video collection includes approximately 350 preserved Warhol films, and it houses the entire output of the artist’s work in video, comprised of more than 4,000 videotapes. The archives is the greatest single collection of ephemera documenting Warhol’s life, and it includes Warhol’s serial work the Time Capsules—610 containers that the artist filled, sealed, and sent to storage.

The Mattress Factory is a research and development lab for artists. As a museum of contemporary art, it commissions new site-specific works, presents them to the widest possible audience, and maintains selected individual installations in a growing - and distinctive - permanent collection. The Mattress Factory's physical and organizational environments have developed out of and responded to a central focus in the creative process. The Mattress Factory has a robust education and outreach program that serves more than 20,000 students of all ages and abilities, many of which are offered free of charge to families.  

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust operates Wood Street Galleries, which features multi-disciplinary artists from all over the world. Located above the T-Station at Wood Street and Sixth Avenue, Wood Street Galleries also houses the Trust's shared office space program which provides a home and tools for small arts organizations.
