Dog Owners’ Guide to Downtown Pittsburgh

Summertime is the time to bring your best friend out for a day on the town! This list includes some of the best spots in Downtown to take your dog for a beer, lunch, or coffee!


This Penn Ave taco spot is serving quality bites with a beautiful outdoor seating area that welcomes four-legged friends of all shapes and sizes! Their beautiful outdoor seating provides plenty of room for you and your pal to enjoy lunch!

Einstein Bro’s Bagels

The Market Square location has plenty of outdoor seating for you and your best friend to grab a quick breakfast. Participating locations offer puppuccinos and a doggie bagel treat!

Gasoline Street Coffee

This local coffee shop has big goals of fostering community in Pittsburgh one cup at a time. Stop by their coffee shop on First Ave for a free pup cup for them and a coffee or pastry for you.

Mike’s Beer Bar

This North Shore spot offers over 80 rotating taps of local beers plus an awesome open-air outdoor seating area with plenty of room for you and your canine companion.

Nicholas Coffee Co.

This paws-itively awesome coffee shop in Market Square is open to canines of all sizes! They keep a box of dog treats behind the counter and are happy to whip up a puppy cup anytime!

Sly Fox Taphouse

Located near the Point State Park, Sly Fox Taphouse offers more than just dog-friendly seating. They make their own dog treats in-house from recycled beer grains and also have a whole section of Sly Fox brand dog supplies for sale so your dog can represent their favorite Taphouse!

Primanti Bro’s

All Primanti’s locations with outdoor seating welcome owners to bring their dogs to enjoy a beer and a Pittsburgher #2 Best Seller.

Shorty’s Pins x Pints

This North Shore favorite offers great beers, duck pin bowling, plus an arcade with games and pinball! Good pups can also get a craft beer plush toy to play with!

Southern Tier Brewing Company

The Southern Tier Brewing Company has partnered with the Proper Pitbull to happily welcome dog- and people-friendly canines to events that benefit local shelters and promote positive animal ownership. Their outdoor beer garden makes for a great place to relax with your furry friend.

Rock’n’Joe Coffee Bar

With one location on Penn Ave and a new one coming to Wood Street, Rock’n’Joe’s is a great place for a quick break on your Downtown walk for a puppacino!

Wiener World

Stop for a quick bite from Wiener world! This classic hotdog joint has been serving Downtown Pittsburgh since 1965! With outside seating located in the middle of the Strawberry Way mural, you can get a dog for your dog and snap some great photos!
