Downtown Picklesburgh, PA – Next weekend, Picklesburgh returns to the Rachel Carson Bridge bringing two full days of family fun and entertainment. The BNY Mellon Stage will be packed with live, local entertainment from some of Pittsburgh’s best-loved bands. And if you’ve never seen 10 people competitively chugging pickle juice, you don’t know what you’ve been missing…until now! And don’t miss your chance to take a selfie with the GIANT 35-foot inflatable Heinz Pickle!

The entertainment will give the lunchtime crowd something to cheer about on Friday, July 15, when legendary blues rocker Norm Nardini kicks things off at noon, when Picklesburgh first opens. Other acts scheduled for Friday include HEAF, Nevada Color and closing the night out, the fabulous Pittsburgh rock ‘n rollers, ATS.
Saturday’s music line-up includes something for everyone, including an acoustic set from Meeting of Important People, Memphis Hill, and Pittsburgh’s much loved pop darlings Donora.

Saturday also brings the much anticipated, highly contested, gastronomical feat of competitive Pickle Juice Drinking! Five preliminary rounds will occur throughout the day pitting pickle juice loving Pittsburghers against one another to see who can down one quart of cold pickle juice the quickest. Winners of each preliminary round will receive a prize package from Steel City Media. Then the five winners will go head-to-head in a winner takes all battle, with the Pickle Juice Drinking Champion going home with 500 green ones - and we don’t mean pickles - this time! Contestants are still being sought for the contest and may sign-up in advance on the Picklesburgh Website.

Produced by the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and presented by Heinz, Picklesburgh is a culinary celebration that goes beyond the dill pickle to include international dishes and handcrafted foods from local chefs that house-cure pickled vegetables; informative how-to demonstrations, at the Post-Gazette Demo area, that embrace the farm-to-table movement and the rising popularity of DIY canning; fun pickle themed merchandise, and a “Li’l Gherkins” area with free activities. The event will be Friday, July 15 and Saturday July 16, with expanded hours from noon – 10:00 p.m. on both days. Craft beer will be available all during the Festival and, beginning at 5:00p.m., several restaurants will offer a selection of artisan cocktails, many featuring pickled ingredients.
