From Pittsburgh to Pickelsburgh
On July 17 and 18, the Rachel Carson Bridge in Downtown Pittsburgh will transform into Picklesburgh, with a giant flying Heinz pickle balloon. This big ole' pickle is a custom job. It's like when the Big Duck was here... but a pickle.
The Picklesburgh festival is primarily a food festival. And it's not just pickles, pickles, pickles. It's about food with pickles too. There will be international dishes, prepared foods and artisan cocktails with THE feature ingredient.
According to the PicklesBRUGH website it's, "an embrace of the farm-to-table movement and the rising popularity of canning; a selection of handcrafted foods and artisan cocktails from local restaurants; informative how-to demos and author talks at the Whole Foods Market demo area; merchandise such as pickled goods, books and DIY products." Wowza!
The two-day festival will feature live music. So you can pickle and -jam- at the same time. ...Get it?
"Picklesburgh is for everyone – from pickle fanatics to just pickle curious." - PicklesBRUGH website
Seriously... it's going to be awesome.
