In India in 1947, a British Lord and his wife are sent to New Delhi to oversee the country's transition from British rule to Independence by taking their place in the splendid mansion known as the Viceroy's House. They are hopeful for a peaceful transference of power, but meet with conflict as different sides clash in the face of monumental change. Based on the book by Larry Collins.
